Saturday – Erin’s second day in London.
We started out the day at Portobello Road Market. It was my first trip to Notting Hill and I had waited to go until Erin came because I knew this market would be her cup of tea. We walked the length of Portobello, ducking into antique shops and stores along the route. I ended up buying two prints, one if old cigarette cards of original 1930’s Alice in Wonderland drawings. I absolutely love it. Afterwards we walked through the neighborhood a bit and ended up eating lunch at Recipease. It is a Jamie Oliver restaurant/cooking school. There was a bit of a wait, but not terrible. We both had Croque Madames with some super spicy mustard the cleansed the sinuses, and some of the best fresh squeezed orange juice I’ve ever had. From there we tubed towards Parliament, walked to Buckingham palace…all the way through Knightsbridge to see Harvey Nicholas and Harrods, then onto the Victoria and Albert Museum for a cafe break. We headed back to Elizabeth’s to rest, and went out to dinner at an Indian restaurant of old Brompton Road in South Kensington, which was super delicious. So a very successful and active day!
